Planning for Spain

Today, we made our arrangements for going to Spain!  (And, we agreed never to wait until the last minute again.)

We will be leaving for Alicante, Spain on Tuesday, 9/26/2017, on the 12:20pm (London time) flight from London Gatwick Airport.  The Airport is a 1 hour train ride away from Eastbourne.  So, we will be getting up at "the crack of dawn" to catch the 8:20am train to make sure all our ducks are actually in a row for our flight.  Besides, everyone knows that the best food is at the Airport <smirk>.

We have an AirBnb (entire apartment to ourselves, at last) arranged for 5 days (and the same price as we have been paying for a private room only in the U.S. and U.K.), until 10/1/2017.  During that time, we hope to decide if we want to stay there or go to Malaga, Valencia, or maybe Lisbon or the Algarve coast of Portugal instead.  We need to find a place to settle for a few months (renting monthly) while we explore and try to arrange a 1 year visa.

Here are the few pictures I took of Eastbourne today.  We still have two more days and may get to Brighton, Lewes (pronounced Lewis) or something else interesting before Tuesday.

This whole waterfront is resort hotels.  It must have really been something and still is.
That's the Eastbourne pier behind us with the golden caps on the almost  East Indian looking roofs.
